Is Adding Geographic Meta Tags Worthwhile?
Wednesday, 18 February 2009
By scott gallagher

Most people reviewing their small business marketing ideas are finding that the only way to remain competitive and thrive in today's marketplace is to expand quickly into the online world. Through a good website and traffic initiatives it is possible to more than just survive as a business, it is possible to thrive. Unfortunately, in today's economic climate, many businesses are finding that to be extremely difficult. The first part of getting online, after your website is built, is to implement an SEO campaign in order to drive traffic to the site.

Many people have questions about these practices, such as what sort of information to put in the Meta tags. For instance, small and local businesses often come across the concern about whether or not to put geographical tags in the Meta description. The truth is that the answer to that will depend a lot on your business goals. If your site's aim is to just target your local and existing customers, this might help you rank better in the search engines. But, if you're trying to use the internet to grow

Using Directory Submissions to Boost Your Business
Tuesday, 17 February 2009
By scott gallagher

Your small business marketing strategy has surely spread to the internet by now if you're trying to stay relevant in today's world. Because most people now have less money to spend, it become imperative that the business owner is able to reach more potential customers with their small business marketing strategy in order to make ends meet.

This is nearly impossible to do from a simple small or local business and expanding into other physical locations is extremely cost prohibitive. However, the global reach of the internet is something that allows you to reach many more customers for a very small amount of money. The success in this, however, relies more upon an understanding of the various ways people make their way to websites and how to implement those practices for your own business. One facet of this that is very important, both in terms of direct traffic and improving your search engine results, is getting your site listed in internet directories.

Including your site in a wide variety of online directories is important for a number of different reasons.

How to Get Started Making Money With an Online Business For Beginners
Monday, 16 February 2009
By Chris Crowe

There are a lot of ways to make money on the internet. A lot of people tell me they want to start making money online by either starting a website or selling a product. I always tell them the same thing, something I have learned from experience, that you cannot just throw a website or product up online and start rolling in the cash. Maybe this has happened once or twice, but generally making money online takes a lot of hard work, that is, if you want to actually earn any money.

I mentioned above that there are a lot of ways to make money on the Internet. Some people create digital products that they then sell online through an e-store or a website. See clickbank to see thousands of digital products. This is another route to take. You can sell other people's digital products and get up to seventy five percent of the price. This is called affiliate marketing and there are a lot of people making really good money doing this kind of thing.

Sunday, 15 February 2009
By Chris Simpson

Business owners need to build trust with people in order to have sales. As a business owner you need to figure out ways to do this. There are many ways to make the trust building process easy and successful but one way is to do online networking.

When done properly, online networking will build traffic to your website which could in turn bring in more customers or clients. It's also the best way to build trust with potential customers or clients.

When you do networking online it's different than the way you do it at a live event. There are many different websites for online networking. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter are three of the most popular sites right now but there are many more. You can do a search for social networking sites and find a number of other networking sites to use.

First thing you need to do with each of these sites and any others that you decide to use, is to set up a profile. Each one is different, but they are pretty easy to do. Just follow the

Back Links Can Drive Your Sales
Saturday, 14 February 2009
By scott gallagher

Back links are a doubly powerful force in the world of online marketing and the traffic that they can help bring to your site make them more than worth the effort. Because of today's online and economic marketplaces, the business world on the internet is more competitive than ever. This means that there are going to be more people competing for the same customers who, unfortunately, also have less money to spend. This means that the competition is only going to get stronger before it gets easier; making it absolutely essential that you learn the small business online marketing tactics that are going to help your site rise to the top of the rankings. When your competition is stiff and your spending is low, that is when you actually have to increase your marketing in order to stay afloat. Implementing some small business marketing strategies online is a great way to do just that.

Implementing your small business online marketing strategies by means of accumulating back links is something that takes some time, but it will really add up over the long run.

The Internet Is a Cold and Distant Place -- Warming Up Your Customer's Perspective of You, Part 1
Saturday, 14 February 2009
By Ron Barrett

One of the easiest to implement yet most overlooked ways to get people to warm up to you and feel like you value them and want to help them is to ask them simple questions.

Everybody's favorite subject is himself or herself so why not show some interest?

Ask questions and do things that require some sort of interaction from your readers. It doesn't really matter what you ask. You can ask questions that are completely unrelated to what your newsletter is about so long as you get people to respond.

When you get them used to doing things you ask them to do, no matter what it is, it's easy for them to keep doing things you ask them to do like buy the products you recommend.

The more you can get your readers to communicate with you, the more they will feel like they know and can trust you.

A relationship (as far as an online newsletter or email course goes) is nothing more than two people (you and each individual subscriber) knowing what their place is in

What a Virtual Assistant Needs to Know Before Creating a Website
Friday, 13 February 2009
By Deborah Gallant

If you have recently launched your own Virtual Assistant practice, you are ready to roll up your sleeves and start assisting. Oops. First you need some clients!

One of the most effective ways to begin marketing your nascent practice is by posting a website. But before you hire a web designer and lay out thousands of dollars, take stock of the situation.

When you take on a new client, you probably ask them to begin with the end in mind. Where do you want to go, what is the goal? I suggest taking the same approach with your web marketing. What can you accomplish?

First, acknowledge that it is unlikely anyone is going to hire you simply because of your website. People may get a referral to you or you meet them at a networking event. Prospective clients can find you online and check out your credentials--but they will want to talk to you before they decide. You are not going to "close the deal" over the Internet.

It is also unlikely you will

Why Websites Work or Fail
Friday, 13 February 2009
By Mercedes Aspland

We have all used the internet and found that some websites work really well and we love and some that are just terrible. The question is what makes a good website and what makes a bad website? If you are setting up a website you need to know the answer to this and this article will help.

1. Professional Website Design

We have all seen websites that look like they are home made. The reason for this is they probably are home made. If you are creating a website and you have a friend who says they can create your website for you, be careful. If they are not a professional designer you may be making a fatal mistake. The reason for this is people are seriously affected by how professional your website looks. If your website looks like a homemade site then what image are you giving your customers?

It is important to remember that if you cut costs you may also be cutting your sales. You also need to be aware that a non professional website creator may not know

Internet Marketing Success with E-books
Thursday, 12 February 2009
By Ruchika Chauhan

E-books have become a very common commodity on the Internet. You can now download e-books from many different websites and you can even visit a bookstore to find these information products. E-books are hot sellers because today's computer savvy generation spends a great deal of time reading e-books for learning and enjoyment purposes. Some in the book industry have even begun to predict that e-books may make traditional printed books obsolete within the next 20 years.

If you have an online business or if your are thinking of starting one, you may want to consider creating and selling informational e-books on your website. Sound intimidating? It's really not. E-books are generally shorter and easier to create than the traditional book. They are also much less expensive to produce. You can create an entire bookstore for only a fraction of the price that it would cost you to publish and print one traditional printed book.

To write an e-book, all you need is a unique information product, a target audience, and a computer. E-books can be created on a multitude of programs and

Adsense: vertical designs to make money online
Thursday, 12 February 2009
By perneet

The first format that you will want to take a look at is the famous leader board ad format with a 728 x 90 size. This is obviously a large ad format and therefore only suited for places where you have lots of space like the header or footer of your page. This is a very popular format with 4 ad units and it seems that it converts rather well on most sites.

The next banner ad layout is the 468 x 60 pixels ad. This is a typical banner design that can be placed almost everywhere. This ad displays 2 ads one alongside the other. The half banner obviously is half the size of the full banner and it's format is 234 x 60 pixels holding only 1 ad. These are the horizontal banners but adsense also has some vertical designs the first one being the 120 x 240 pixels

For the small type of ads that go in tight spots on your site you can use the buttons with the 125 x 125 square size holding 1 single ad. This is

5 Brand-Building Secrets Through Blogging
Thursday, 12 February 2009
By seomul Evans

Technorati recently completed its 2008 State of the Blogosphere report, which contains some interesting information about the correlation between blogs and brand building. The report shows that bloggers are interested in talking about brands. So if you are looking for ways to build your brand, make friends with some bloggers!

Blogging is, at its heart, a place for people to share information about themselves and about their lives. If people have good experiences, they blog about them. If they have bad experiences, they blog about those, too. This includes experiences with businesses both online and in real life. If bloggers encounter a product or service that they find phenomenal, they will blog about it. Same goes for products or services that they find abysmal. In fact, nearly 80 percent of bloggers talk about brands and/or products that they love or hate, and 37 percent of them do so on a frequent basis. Many businesses have taken advantage of this publicity. In fact, one-third of all bloggers have been asked to act as brand advocates.

This may seem silly given that anyone can maintain

Marketing Your Small Business on the Internet
Wednesday, 11 February 2009
By scott gallagher

Starting your own small business consists of a number of required elements if you truly wish to be successful. Of course, you must first have a product or service that people want. That is to say that you must be able to fit or fill an existing need. Secondly, you must have a concrete marketing plan. There are a number of other factors that can help you along the way but, if you are rock solid in those foundations, then you may buck the trend of failing small businesses.

However, one of the keys to your success is going to require some expertise in small business internet marketing. The current economic climate makes it harder than any other time in recent memory for a small business to thrive based on its location alone with only local customers. The internet, however, can bring you customers from around the globe at a fraction of the cost of traditional advertising, which allows even someone operating a small business the chance to become successful and competitive.

Volume is the name of the internet game. Because

While it's true that adding AdSense a web page is trivial all you do is paste some JavaScript code that Google generates for you learning how to make money with AdSense especially how to really make money is decidedly non-trivial. Like anything, it takes time and effort. For more results login on to www.youradsenseprofits.com. There are no overnight successes with AdSense.

Advertising Method and ruled supreme for quite a long time.
Monday, 09 February 2009
By RAJIV KUMAR SAINI

Advertising on the Web at one time relied almost completely on marketing by email. It was a very dollar friendly advertising method and ruled supreme for quite a long time. But as things and people progressed it was edged out beyond its uses and the result was spam. The fact is it rose to such a levels that governments throughout the world rushed to pass new laws outlawing many forms of email marketing and the people operating it. For more resources go to www.adsense-income-exposed.com. In so much as they almost killed it off completely. In its wake we had adwords and various other pay per click systems. Although very results driven at first. Paid for promotional campaigns can get very costly. Certainly you see visits and the method does work but its does leave a little to be desired. Adwords campaigns can quite easily cost you far more than you could ever hope to make if the scheme or the information you are promoting carries a low ticket price. Especially when we see keyword bids exceeding the 100 dollar mark per click. Then it

5 Reasons to Avoid Twitter, and Why You Should Not
Monday, 09 February 2009
By seomul Evans

If you're not familiar with Twitter then you are probably not up to speed on social networking. But if you haven't decided to create a Twitter account, you're definitely not alone. Many internet marketers are wary of using Twitter for a number of reasons. Here are the top 5.

1. Useless Information. It's true that many Twitter users update their Twitters with completely useless information. Do you really need to know that someone just finished their second cup of coffee or is leaving the office early for a pedicure? The good news is that if you find that you don't particularly enjoy a person's tweets, you don't have to continue following them. But don't eliminate this option altogether. One of the most important aspects of Web 2.0 is engaging people in all aspects of their lives, even the mundane stuff. Share yourself, welcome the opportunity to let others share themselves with you, and you will go a long way toward building a loyal customer base. People are much more willing to do business with you if they think you have a vested interest

Your Key to Success in Business - Internet Marketing For Small Business
Sunday, 08 February 2009
By Wayne Messick

Talking about Internet marketing for small business is all the rage. The airwaves are full of advertisements directed toward small business owners as well.

It seems each conversation I hear, every ad I see, and every article I read is talking about small business differently than I think of small business. Those that seem to be the target of Internet marketing strategies and information more closely resemble what I refer to as start-up businesses.

There are indeed millions of them - businesses with 5 of fewer people, companies that have been around for five years or less. I assume their sheer numbers is what encourages the marketers of Internet products and services to go after them.

What about the those small businesses that are well established, having been successfully doing business for a dozen years, two or more decades, or even longer? These mainstream companies with from 25-500 employees - companies and down Main Street in every country around the world. Companies who employee seventy-five percent of the people on he planet. Real people manufacturing, selling, and distributing real products and services.

Small Business Marketing on the Internet
Sunday, 08 February 2009
By scott gallagher

The advertising standards of the business world have changed a lot in the last several years and, considering that the internet has been growing steadily for the last decade, at incredible rates. As it grows, so do the number of customers who are choosing to spend their money online instead of going the traditional route. This is why it is becoming more expedient for business owners to explore the new mediums of advertising on the internet instead of relying on the traditional TV, radio and magazine advertising that has always managed to set the standard in the past. For people new to this world, reading a good internet marketing eBook is a good place to start learning.

The reason that any business owner needs to read up on internet marketing has a lot to do with the sheer volume of people online and the amount of time that each of those individuals spends online. There are very few people left that do not have internet access in the Western world, either from home, the library, or their place of work. However, the recent

Changing trends of property marketing & importance of online marketing
Saturday, 07 February 2009
By William

Irrespective of whether you wish to have a home for investment or residential purposes, listings of Real Estates is a primary requirement. This information can easily be found in newspapers and on the net. In fact, the latter has only assumed greater significance since the internet revolution has been made. Newspapers have turned out to be a time-consuming affair now. When it comes to newspapers, you will be required to read all the listings mentioned, shortlist the options which look good to you, jot down important points like the quotations and contact information on a piece of paper, call them up to get the details or make a call to the local broker to look into the matter after a fixing of appointment. This, of course, is a tedious job. A greater disadvantage of newspapers is that since the listings are published weekly, you may very well get to know that the deal that attracted you the most has already been finalized. So you will need to consult a local broker to know the proper status. In fact, a brokers services can rarely be done away
