By Chris Crowe There are a lot of ways to make money on the internet. A lot of people tell me they want to start making money online by either starting a website or selling a product. I always tell them the same thing, something I have learned from experience, that you cannot just throw a website or product up online and start rolling in the cash. Maybe this has happened once or twice, but generally making money online takes a lot of hard work, that is, if you want to actually earn any money.
I mentioned above that there are a lot of ways to make money on the Internet. Some people create digital products that they then sell online through an e-store or a website. See clickbank to see thousands of digital products. This is another route to take. You can sell other people's digital products and get up to seventy five percent of the price. This is called affiliate marketing and there are a lot of people making really good money doing this kind of thing. Another way to generate some income online is by starting niche websites. You can build this kind of site on almost any topic. The way people do this is by writing some authoritative articles on a given topic and trying to get some search engine traffic to visit the site. They will have advertisements on their site that are relevant to whatever topic they have chosen to write about. One such advertising program is the Google Adsense program, a very popular and easy way to get started making some money with ads on your site. Adsense serves up contextually relevant ads that should target your audience effectively if you have done your job well. The way you do this well is by having the right amount of keywords that are specific to the theme you are writing about. For instance, there are thousands of blogs and websites about making money online. They are called MMO blogs for short and most are completely useless. People start writing about how to make money online before they even are earning any themselves. The keyword phrase that many of these webmasters target is, you guessed it: Make Money Online. If they have somewhere around a 6 percent keyword density and have other related terms that appear naturally, then their ads should pop up and be extremely relevant to their content. Relevant Advertisements Relevant advertisements are important because this is the type of ad that people click. This type of ad has the promise of information and may take the reader one step closer to solving the problem they are looking to solve with their search. Another ad network to try is called Chitika. The Chitika premium ad selection is behaviorally targeted, meaning it targets directly what search engine users are searching for on Google, Yahoo, and Ask. This is a pretty good network because the adverts will be targeted to the audience, which is good for the reasons I stated above. If you decide to get started selling affiliate products or setting up a website that will rake in some earning for you from relevant ads, then you need to know one thing: it takes traffic.
